Refurbished Cheap Kindle

Looking for a cheap Kindle or a good reconditioned e-reader deal? Well, did you know that Amazon itself officially sells 3G Kindles for the lower price of £115 instead of £152? If you don't mind buying a perfectly good refurbished model (I don't - I bought one). It's as good as new!

Simply go to the normal Kindle page on Amazon and click on the 'Used & New' link on the right hand side of the page. Don't say I don't look after you!

Ocotovo PU Sleeve Case for Kindle 3

Now just look at this baby. Purdy huh?

This, dear naked Kindle owners, is an OCTOVO PU Sleeve Case for Kindle 3 in 'International Orange' no less.

It's a PU sleeve with wool-felt lining panels displaying different layered materials. Which means it's hard to get dirty but easily cleaned if showing battle fatigue. Snug, tailor-made design ensures your Kindle won't escape accidentally, yet slides out easily when you need it.

I think I'm getting a little fixated on orange Kindle accessories...

Amazon Summer Kindle deal still running

I'm told Amazon is offering a huge
20% off Kindle accessories. Think this deal is any good?

Invisible Kindle screen protector uses helicopter blade technology!

Tablet accessory store Gearzap.com is selling what looks like a freezer bag for Kindles.

Okay I jest, but it's one of the more strange looking sleeves I've seen.

The blurb explains: "Custom designed for the Amazon Kindle, theThe InvisibleSHIELD is made from the most advanced materials, making it the toughest and most durable protective film for gadgets on the market. The Full Body Protector is designed to not only protect the screen but protect the whole body of the Kindle from scratches. The film has its origins in the U.S. military, where it was used to protect the leading edges of helicopter blades from wear and tear while travelling hundreds of miles per hour. Our proprietary film is a clear, urethane plastic (invisible, invincible) with unique properties that allow it to provide self-healing qualities and unparalleled abrasion resistance. The film's flexibility allows us to custom design the invisibleSHIELD to protect your entire device, including the sides, edges, screen, front and back."

There's even a nifty demonstration video:

Take a look at the Gearzap.com product page.

Kindle sleeve - real leather

Just spotted a great sleeve on eBay. Loving the bright orange Kindle sleeve (sorry - no pic. Ebay won't let me copy it over, the rotters).

Fitting an Amazon Kindle 3 using full grain top quality leather. If you don't like orange leather (or 'rich tan' as they call it) fear not - it comes in 10 colourways of poppy red, jade green, ebony black, mid brown, deep purple, emerald green, denim blue, pink pearl and "an unusual screen printed leather with blue stars or green stars."

Interestingly, the Kindle sleeve is designed and produced in a workshop by the Balbirnie Leather Company in Fife, Scotland which is a family business established for over 35 years.

If you're keen to support local indy retailers, this sleeve is for you.
